Your fundraising target. And the start of everything below.
Family food parcels, distributed by hand. By you.
Clean, safe water for communities that walk miles without it.
Essential shelter and supplies for displaced families.
Sustainable projects that outlast your visit.
Not statistics on a fundraising page. People you'll meet.

We give you the tools, guidance and support to build your fundraiser and reach your target.
Fundraising ideas, campaign support and a team beside you from day one.
Visit communities and projects supported through your fundraising, and see the work taking place on the ground.
Wells, food programmes, shelter and livelihood projects, seen with your own eyes.
Help distribute essential support and meet some of the families receiving it.
You carry, you pack, you hand over, with the team guiding you throughout.
Hear people's stories directly, instead of only seeing them through a screen.
You sit, you listen, you learn names.
You go to make an impact. Most volunteers discover the experience has an impact on them too.
Ask anyone who has been. Most are already planning their next one.
Salam's deployment programme includes aid distributions, beneficiary visits, fundraising for urgent cases encountered on the ground, Orphans Fun Days and visits to sustainability projects.

The experience

Your Salam Charity deployment team runs through the day ahead.
Coffee, plan, roles for the day. Everyone knows their job before the vans leave.
Travel out with the team and local partners.
Windows down, playlists on. The drive is where the team bonds.
Visit families and hear directly about their circumstances.
No cameras first. You sit, you listen, you learn names.
Food. Hygiene supplies. Essential support. Whatever that day's project requires, you help hand it over.
You carry, you pack, you hand over, with the team guiding you throughout.
Visit ongoing projects helping communities build greater independence.
Wells, livelihood projects, long-term work your fundraising also feeds into.
You may meet a family or discover a situation that needs support right now. The team comes together. The fundraising starts again.
Urgent cases get scoped by the team and a live fundraiser often starts that same evening.
Return to the hotel. Reflect on what happened. Prepare for tomorrow.
Dinner together, a short reflection circle, then rest. Tomorrow goes again.
Deployment working days usually run from around 9am until 5 to 6pm, followed by an evening reflection session with the team.

The human side
You will work. You will laugh. You will probably be exhausted.
You'll meet people you never would have met otherwise. And you'll do it alongside a team that came for exactly the same reason you did.
