SYRIA

Eleven years on, the conflict in Syria has inflicted an almost unimaginable degree of devastation on the Syrian people and their economy.

More than 6 million people have been displaced – which is widely regarded as one of the largest displacements since World War II – creating the largest refugee population in the world.

  • 1 in 3 Syrians live below the poverty line
  • 10 million do not have access to safe water
  • 6.2 million internally displaced people within Syria
  • 2.4 million children are out of school
  • Only 51% of all healthcare facilities are functional

Healthcare centres and hospitals, schools, utilities, and water and sanitation systems have been damaged or destroyed. Right now, over 11 million people need critical humanitarian assistance.

Overall, it’s estimated a horrific 80% of the population now lives in poverty.

OUR WORK

We are determined to do as much as we can to bring some hope to the long-suffering Syrian people. The children of Syria deserve an opportunity for a better future, and we want to help provide this.

Life-saving Food Packs

Working with our nutritional experts, we have assembled food packs filled with ingredients to feed a family of 6 for a month. Each pack costs just £60 and contains essential staple items such as rice, oil, flour and sugar. We are distributing these packs amongst the vulnerable in Syria, supplying critical aid that is saving lives.

Shelter Rehabilitation

Consulting with our partners in Syria, we have identified shelters and homes across Northern Syria which require urgent improvements to be made safe. We have already restored more than 100 shelters, and are working hard to continue to provide safe homes for IDPs across the country. Supporting the return of Syrians to their homes will boost economic growth as people and businesses return. Help us by donating to repair homes and help Syrians to help themselves.
