Fidya and Kaffarah
Missed fasts?
Fidya is paid by those who cannot fast because of long-term illness or age, at the cost of feeding one person for each missed day. Kaffarah applies when a fast is broken deliberately. Both are distributed as food to families in need.

Which nisab should I use? +
Most scholars advise the silver nisab because it is lower, so more people qualify to give and more people benefit. Use gold if that is your school’s position.
Does Salam take anything from Zakat? +
No. We run a 100% Zakat policy. Admin costs come from other donations and Gift Aid.
Who receives my Zakat? +
Zakat-eligible families in the countries we work in: emergency food, water, shelter and medical aid for the poorest.
